Drum Roll to the Big Day
For the past nearly three years My Baby and I have had an extraordinary courtship and engagement. Unless you've ever felt this way about another person, it's a little hard to describe. Love at first sight? Yes, but with some applied wisdom. Head over heels? Yes, but with a big toe firmly planted in the ground. Inseparable? Yes, with regular stints apart.
The party starts today, with out-of-town guests gathering for a welcome fiesta. Saturday we all climb aboard a bus and visit some of our favorite wineries for wine tasting and a delicious picnic prepared by my dear friend (who happens to be an exquisite cook) Mary. Thank you, Mary. Then Sunday, listen for the wedding bells! It's a small gathering of family and through-thick-and through-thin friends.
Our Save-the-Dates
While I'm off honeymooning (and quite a honeymoon it promises to be, dear reader) two of my favorite bloggers and sweet friends, Jason Phelps from Ancient Fire and Lauren Zabaneh of Foodie House with Lauren will be guest posting. They each have fun ways to let you know where on the globe My Baby and I will be, and some fun stories about their own courtships, weddings and honeymoons. I've not given up my driver's seat on this blog before, and I'm delighted to know that two terrific bloggers and wonderfully kind people are taking the wheel for me. I can't begin to convey my gratitude.
See you in a couple of weeks, with lots of food and wine notes from afar. In the meantime, enjoy Lauren and Jason!
Happy Zero-ending Birthday today to my favorite Mother of all time!
I love you, Mom!
